Yolanda S. Carranza, a devoted provider and caretaker whose heart was as warm as the tortillas she lovingly made, passed away on March 29, 2026, in Eagle Lake, Texas. Born on May 29, 1949, in Alice, Texas, Yolanda lived a life deeply rooted in family, faith, and service. Her passing leaves a gentle void, yet her spirit continues to resonate in the memories of those she touched.
Throughout her years, Yolanda was known for her unwavering dedication to caring for others. She had a remarkable talent for nurturing those around her, especially her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her kitchen was a sanctuary where love was expressed through food—she delighted in crafting tortillas with tender hands and held a special fondness for her granddaughter's meatloaf, a dish she cherished not only for its flavor but for the love it represented.
Yolanda’s generous nature extended far beyond her family circle. Her life was a testament to kindness and selflessness, qualities that shone in every act of care she provided. She was a faithful member of Iglesia Del Dios Vivo in Mathis, Texas, where her spirit found community and strength. Her faith was a cornerstone that supported her lifelong commitment to helping others, making her presence a beacon of warmth and compassion.
Yolanda’s love for cooking and her helping nature were not just hobbies or traits—they were the essence of who she was. She was passionate about family and dedicated every moment she could to cherishing and caring for those she loved. In her memory, may we all find inspiration to embrace life with the same generosity of spirit and unyielding devotion.
Yolanda is reunited with her parents, Basilio Salinas and Isabel Medina; stepmother, Carmen Salinas; siblings, Ruben Salinas, Ernesto Salinas, Isabel Salinas, Basilio Jr. Salinas Jr., Emma Olivarez, Tomasita Silvas, Jesse Flores, Jose Salinas, and Ida Garcia. She is leaves her memories to her only surviving son, Frank Carranza; grandchildren, Jezibell Carranza, Jimmy Hernandez, Karyzma Gonzalez, Izayah Gonzalez, Lyric Carranza, Esiah Carranza, and Amora Carranza; great-grandson, Mateo Hernandez; siblings, Daniel Salinas, Bebe Oliva, Luis Salinas, Donato Salinas, Noe Salinas, Ismael Salinas, Rachel Salinas, and Antonio Salinas; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
