William “Bill” Jones, age 66, passed away of a sudden heart attack in the early morning hours on August 7th, 2025, in Portland, Texas. He died peacefully, and in the loving arms of his wife, Patty, leaving a void in her heart and the hearts of all who knew him. Bill was a gentle soul; patient, never quick to anger, kind to everyone, and like a father to so many kids that weren’t his own. He always had a joke or something sarcastic to say, but it was all in good fun, and never mean-spirited. Animals loved him, and at one time, he had several chickens, a turkey named Jenny, horses, donkeys, and his faithful chihuahua Chico.
Bill was a professional truck driver for most of his life and loved to tell colorful stories of his encounters on the road and at various truck stops all over the USA. He loved breakfast and coffee, westerns, and classic rock (especially Ozzy Osbourne). Bill was one-of-a-kind, and will be missed by all.
He is survived by his wife Patty, his parents William Jones Sr. and Vera Jones, his children Christopher Jones, Tiffany and husband Jeff Sizemore, Grant Supak, Travis Supak, and eleven grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his twin brother, Wayne.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, August 30th at Grace Point Community Church in El Campo, Texas. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a local animal shelter or rescue of your choice.
