Timothy Louis Shelburne

Timothy Louis Shelburne passed away, Saturday December 27, 2025, with his family by his side. He was 79 years old. Tim was born February 12, 1946, in Alice, Texas to William L. and Jacqueline Shelburne. Shortly after, the family relocated to Taft, Texas to help with the family farm.

Tim grew up in Taft. He was a proud boy scout and a member of the FFA. He graduated in 1966 from Taft High School. Tim loved all things agriculture, especially John Deere tractors. In his younger years he loved to hunt and fish. As he got older, he liked to garden (he had a lot of tomatoes), cook and feed the birds. Tim could be at times strong willed and stubborn to those that loved him, but he also had a loving heart and a funny sense of humor. He loved telling stories.

He is preceded in death by his parents, W.L. and Jacqueline Shelburne, Michael Shelburne (brother), Shawn Shelburne (son) and Shawn Gonce (grandson).

He is survived by his longtime companion of almost 40 years, Kaye Woodward. His children, Emery (Michelle) Shelburne, Matthew (Kimberly) Shelburne and Shari (Kevin) Ehrenberger. His grandchildren, Kassandra (Trevor) Jones, Jeffrey Poff, Melanie (Aaron) McCain, Joey Rodriguez, Emery (Makayla) Shelburne, Jazzmyn Shelburne, Jacqueline Gonce, Brayden Shelburne and Kash Ehrenberger. His Great-grandchildren, Mikiya Strickland, Lainey McCain, Tristyn Jones, Freya and Odin Shelburne and numerous cousins.

Tim will be greatly missed by those that loved and knew him well. Until we meet again.

Memorial to celebrate Tim’s life will be held, January 17, 2026 at 2:00 pm at Winsteads Funeral Home 500 Wildcat Drive, Portland, Texas.
