Timothy Dirk Johnson

Captain Timothy (Tim) Dirk Johnson, age 69, entered eternal peace and rest on June 9th, 2023. He was born March 27th, 1954, in Houston, Texas. Tim held a deep love for his family and especially his wife, Diane. He was extremely enthusiastic about fishing and hunting and fulfilled his dream of becoming a fulltime fishing guide after he retired from the NAS Corpus Christi in 2016.  Tim could often be found taking his customers on a fishing trip in the Laguna Madre or driving the Gator around the Casa Rio Ranch with his best friend, John Srp of Orange Grove. His determined love for the Houston Oilers/Tennessee Titans could act as a metaphor for his loyalty in life: even through the worst, his unwavering support never faltered. Tim never met a stranger, simply, he was a life-long friend to all, and if Tim didn’t pick on you, he probably didn’t like you.  His presence will continue to be felt in the calm tides while fishing, a cool breeze while sitting in a deer blind, and an Astros victory. May his memory be a blessing and his benevolent soul continue to guide others to unsparing love.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Ollie Lorraine Johnson, and his father, Melvin Donald Johnson.

Tim is survived by his loving wife, Diane Johnson of San Patricio; children, Joey Johnson of Portland, Tamra Roberts (Pat) of Bastrop, Tara Morales (Paul) of Jarrell, Stephanie Canada of Corpus Christi, and Brandon Canada of Corpus Christi; and 10 grandchildren.
