Thomas "Tommy" Wayne Rabb

Thomas “Tommy” Wayne Rabb, 82, of Mathis, Texas, passed away surrounded by loved ones, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, dedication, and quiet strength.

Tommy was a lifelong electrician and a proud member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) local 278. He approached his craft with skill, professionalism, and pride, forming lasting friendships with many of those he worked alongside. His work ethic and commitment to his trade were admired by all who knew him.

Known for his gentle spirit, generous heart, adventurous spirit and unwavering love, Tommy touched the lives of many. Whether offering a helping hand, sharing a story, making pancakes or simply being a steady presence, he made a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

Tommy is preceded in death by his parents, Warren Wayne Rabb and Lorene Charles, and by his loving wife, Nancy Taylor Rabb, whom he cherished deeply. A devoted father and proud grandfather, Tommy found his greatest joy in his family. He is survived by his son, Warren (Darla) Rabb; his daughter, Tonya (Danny) Lorberau; and his bonus daughter, Paige Steinhardt. He was blessed with many grandchildren who brought immense happiness to his life: Jordan (Bryan) Brattlof, Tyler (Hanna) Rabb, Hannah (Wes) Loria, Dalton (Alissa) Lorberau, Garrett (Cindy) Lorberau, and Megan (Alexander) Piecuch; several bonus grandchildren, Ashton (Devin) Sigler, Courtney (Robert) Elizondo, Sage Leal, Mason Leal, Presley Leal, and Quinnlee Steinhardt; along with several great-grandchildren. Tommy is also survived by his sister, Linda (Phil) Wright, as well as several nieces and nephews who held a special place in his heart: Tammy (Denise) Campbell, John Taylor, Coitt Kessler, and Bryce (Melissa) Kessler along with several great-nieces and great-nephews.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to all the wonderful ladies who have been part of Tommy’s journey. Their compassion, support, and dedication meant more than words can express. A very special thank-you goes to his devoted caregivers (who became family) Melissa Hinojosa and Diane Villarreal, as well as the amazing Choice Hospice team—Marcella, Norma, Brittany, and Evelyn—whose kindness and care brought comfort through every step. The family also extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered prayers, kindness, and support during this time.

Tommy will be remembered not only for the life he lived, but for the love he shared, the lessons he taught, and the example he leaves behind for his family and all who knew him.
