Selfi Yolanda Rodriguez, a beacon of love and kindness, passed away on December 7, 2025, in Houston, Texas. Born on July 12, 1949, in Roma, Texas, Yolanda dedicated her life to nurturing not only her family but also her community.

Yolanda’s career began with a five-year tenure at Mathis Independent School District, which blossomed into two decades of devoted volunteering, showcasing her unwavering commitment to education and the development of children. Additionally, she contributed ten years of service to the San Patricio County during voting seasons, displaying her dedication to civic duty and community engagement.

Yolanda's heart was most evident during the holiday season when she found immense joy in decorating for Christmas and purchasing special ornaments. Each holiday, she welcomed everyone with open arms into her home, her spirit of hospitality reflecting her deep love for those around her. She fostered children for many years, offering them a safe and loving environment, her smile bringing warmth and joy to all who knew her. Her faith in God's will was steadfast, and she never lost her belief that each day was a gift.

Family was the cornerstone of Yolanda’s life; her love for her grandchildren was boundless, and she eagerly attended all their events, cheering them on with pride and encouragement. She cherished every moment spent with her children, nurturing a family legacy filled with love and support.

Yolanda is reunited in Heaven with her cherished husband, Jose Andres Rodriguez; her parents, Octavio and Elva Garcia; her dear siblings, Mary Samano and Ruben Garcia; her mother and father-in-law; sister-in-law, Andrea Mata; and brothers-in-law, Johnny Rodriguez and Oscar Rodriguez. She leaves behind her beloved children, Julie R. Munson, Katrina Rodriguez, Jerry (Kristin) Rodriguez, Jason (Denise) Rodriguez, Jonathan Perez, and Vincent (Many) Perez; nine grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren, who will carry forward the precious memories of their time together. She is also survived by her siblings, Maggie (Joaquin) Barraza and Saul (Maria) Garcia, who will miss her deeply.

Selfi Yolanda Rodriguez's legacy of love, faith, and service will linger in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her spirit will continue to shine through the kindness she spread and the lives she touched.
