Sastenez D. Martinez

Sastenez (SD) Martinez, 88,  passed away May 19, 2014. He was born November 28, 1925. He served in the U.S. Navy for 4 years during World War II on the warship LCD. He was employed as a civilian for the Corpus Christi Naval Base where he was then medically retired.

Sastenez was preceded in death by his wife Esther Martinez; granddaughter Debbie Martinez Ortiz; his parents Lazaro and Ramalda Martinez; and sisters Victoria Ramirez and Thomasa Ochoa.

He is survived by his children Steve (Beatrice) Martinez, Freddy Martinez, Nelda Martinez, Patricia (Joe) Jimenez, David Martinez, Danny (Bea) Martinez, and Ruben (Liz) Martinez; siblings Mary Davis and Judy Muse; 20 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and 2 great great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at Limbaugh Funeral Home in Portland, with the Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, May 22, 2014 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Gregory. Interment to follow at Palms Memorial Gardens.
