Ruth Joanne (Sheel) Hisle, 95, of Portland, Texas, passed away on June 24, 2026.
Ruth was born on December 23, 1930, to Emera Frederick Sheel and Opal Gladys (Criger) Sheel in Piedmont, Kansas. She was raised in Moline, Kansas, and graduated in 1948, from Moline High School. Following graduation, she met the love of her life, Richard W. "Dick" Hisle and they were united in marriage on November 14, 1948.
To this union, three children were born: Linda Carol, Richard Dean, and Gary David. Following the death of her husband, Richard W. Hisle and daughter, Linda Carol Hisle, Ruth relocated to Texas to be closer to her sons and grandchildren.
Ruth is preceded in death by her husband, Richard W. Hisle; daughter, Linda Carol Hisle; parents, Emera and Opal (Criger) Sheel; brothers and sisters-in-law, Elson Lee (Barbara) Sheel and Harold Frank (Lavoy) Sheel.
Ruth is survived by her sons, Richard (Betty) Hisle of Portland, Texas, and Gary (Dee Dee) Hisle of Corpus Christi, Texas; grandchildren, Melissa (Michael) Doddridge of Campbell, Texas, Brian Hisle of Portland, Texas, Alan (Jocelynn) Villarreal of Georgetown, Texas, and Thomas (Michelle) Hisle of Rockport, Texas; great-grandchildren, Isaiah (Katie) Vestal of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, Nicholas (Faith) Doddridge of Commerce, Texas, Noah Doddridge of Campbell, Texas, Annalisa (Trevor) Ferguson of Lone Oak, Texas, Skyler Hisle of Portland, Texas, Nathaniel Doddridge of Campbell, Texas, Reagan Hisle of Portland, Texas, Amelia Hisle of Rockport, Texas, and Andy and Edison Villarreal of Georgetown, Texas; and great-great-granddaughter, Isabella Doddridge of Commerce, Texas.
Funeral Services will be held at Countryside Funeral Home in Howard, Kansas. Interment will be held at Moline Cemetery in Moline, Kansas. A Reception will follow at Moline Public Library.
