Rory Dean Nixon

Rory Dean Nixon, 58, of Aransas Pass TX, peacefully joined Our Heavenly Father and his beloved parents on January 29, 2018.

Rory (“Roy”) was born July 29th, 1959 in Hutchinson KS to Melvin and Rosalie Nixon (Loffredo). He grew up in Peoria IL and after high school enlisted in the United States Navy as an Operations Specialist.  Stationed in San Diego and Pearl Harbor, Rory proudly shared shipmate tales of his Western Pacific deployments, as well as amusing lifetime experiences with family and friends.

Residing in the Coastal Bend North Bay Area since 1984, Rory successfully established Christian Landscape and Lawn in 2001 in Rockport where his clientele also became friends and neighbors.  He was an avid sports fan, history buff, and armchair politician with a quick wit sense of humor and comic relief. Rory was a spiritually guided father, loving grandfather, devoted brother and will be dearly missed by many.

Rory is survived by daughter Elizabeth Nixon-Naranjo (Joey), sons Phillip Nixon and Alexander Nixon (Tori), four amazing grandchildren, Desiray, Destiny, Andrew and Adrien, all of the Coastal Bend Area. Sisters Shawna Thompson (John), Renae Springer (Nate), brother Brian Nixon, paternal grandmother Etta Goetz, all of Peoria IL, and numerous extended family members of Texas, Illinois, Kansas and beyond.

A Seaside Celebration of Life will be held with loved ones in the Spring.
