Reynaldo "Rey" Salinas, a beloved father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 21, 2026, in Corpus Christi, Texas. Born on September 30, 1946, in Mathis, Texas, Rey lived a life marked by dedication, humor, and a spirit of service.
For an impressive 36 years, Rey devoted his professional life to BFI and (later renamed) Allied Waste in Robstown, Texas. His commitment to his work was matched only by his willingness to lend a hand to those around him, often seen helping friends and family with their vehicle repairs. A jovial jokester at heart, he brightened the lives of many with his infectious laughter.
Rey was not just defined by his career but also by his passions and interests. He cherished the moments spent fishing and had an innate talent for tinkering on different vehicles as a self-taught mechanic. His love for food was evident in his passion for grilling, bringing family and friends together around delicious meals. A true sports enthusiast, he proudly supported the Dallas Cowboys, relishing every opportunity to cheer for his favorite team.
Rey is reunited with his beloved wife, Micaela Salinas; son, Adrian Salinas; and parents, Ninfa Trevino Salinas and Andres Salinas. He leaves his memories to his children, Reynaldo (Nora) Salinas of Alice, Texas, Ninfa (Lazano) Sanchez Wadley, Alabama, and Angie (Roy) Salinas of Beeville, Texas; 13 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; brothers, Eligio Salinas Sr. of Mathis, Texas and Joe Salinas of Mathis, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
There are no services being held for Rey at this time.
As we remember Reynaldo, we celebrate a life that was filled with love, laughter, and an unwavering commitment to family and community. His legacy will continue through the countless lives he touched and the memories that will forever be cherished in the hearts of those who knew him.
