Rafael “Ray” Casares, 74, died Saturday July 4, 2015 at Baylor Hospital in Dallas Texas. Rafael was born August 24, 1940 in Corpus Christi to Rafael and Delores Casares. Rafael was a devoted husband and father. He was married to Petra (Patsy) Padron for 52 years. He moved the family from Gregory, Texas to Dallas, Texas in 1969. He was retired from United States Postal Service. The two had four children Esther (Robert) Frost, Rafael Jr., Amanda (Anthony) Cogan, and Ray O. Casares; 5 grandchildren, Brittany Casares, Desiree Frost, Andre Casares, Nicholas Casares, and Mia Casares. During his life in Dallas Rafael was a devoted member of the Catholic Church, faithfully attending service and was involved in the church choir. Rafael let his musical passion come alive in his devotion to Christ, he was a teammate of his church’s softball team and avid golfer. He was an enthusiast of sports and loved to share all his talents with his family and friends. Rafael’s spirit in giving will be truly missed by his family and friends but they take solace in knowing he is with his creator and other family in Heaven.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at the Limbaugh Funeral Home with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 9, 2015 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Gregory, Texas.
