Pete Gusman Jr.

Mr. Pete Gusman, 70, entered Eternal Rest on Wednesday, January 25, 2023. He was born on February 8, 1952 in Bay City, Texas to Adela S. Gusman and Pedro H. Guzman.  Mr. Gusman is preceded in death by his Parents, his step brother, Pedro Gusman of Wharton, Texas and his companion later in life, Lucy Cavazos of Mathis, Texas.

Left to cherish his loving memory are his daughters, Vicki Guillen, Jean (Caleb) Wines, Joan (Shawn Lozica) Gusman, Vanessa (Chris) Stone; Sons, Pedro Gusman III, Ivan Rocky Gusman; 26 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren. He is missed dearly as the only brother to his sisters, Amy Garcia, Dolores Gamez, Manuela Vega, Maria Elena Jeremiah, Adelaide Guzman; Brothers, Jesus Silvas, Faustino Montalvo.

He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and served in Vietnam. He raised his family with loving wife of 32 years, Esmeralda Gusman in Bacliff, TX where he worked as an Operator at BP Petroleum in Texas City, Texas for over 25 years.

Later in Life he retired to Mathis, Texas to pursue his dream of owning land and raising cattle, living the country life.  He will be dearly missed by numerous family and friends.

Serving as Pallbearers are (Grandsons): Pedro Gusman IV, Donavan Waldrop, Thomas De La Cruz III, Shawn Lozica Jr., Isaac Wines and Ivan Gusman Jr.

Visitation for Mr. Gusman will be at 2:00 pm and Holy Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm on Thursday, February 2, 2023 at Dobie Funeral Home.  Funeral Service will be at 10:00 am on Friday, February 3, 2023 at Dobie Funeral Home followed by interment at Cenizo Hill Cemetery in Mathis, Texas.
