Peggy Raub

Peggy Wheeler Raub, age 82, passed away on March, 17, 2017, after a brief illness. She was born the fifth of six children in Dawson County near Lamesa, Texas, on February 17, 1935. Until the end of her life, Peggy was full of energy, joy and happiness. She enjoyed life, her grandchildren, and the “old ladies group” at the Portland First Baptist Church.

She was raised on a family farm in the Texas Panhandle, graduated from Ralls, Texas, High School and attended college at Texas Tech in Lubbock where she earned a Master’s Degree in Home Economics. She was a long time high school teacher and left a mark on many students. She loved God and considered Him the source of her many blessings in life. She is survived by a daughter, Shirley Denton (Boyd), and a son, Timothy Raub (Rosa), as well as eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and one brother (Wade Wheeler).

There will be a viewing at Limbaugh Funeral Home in Portland, Texas, on Friday, March 24, 2017, from 7:00 - 9:00 PM. The Memorial Service will be held at the First Baptist Church in Portland, Texas, at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 25, 2017, with a graveside service thereafter and reception to follow back at the church.
