Peggy Ann Gray, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on the warm sunny afternoon of April 15, 2025, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, surrounded by her loving family. Born on September 10, 1952, in San Antonio, Texas, Peggy touched the lives of many with her raw sense of humor, straightforward attitude, and a heart full of love.
Peggy was a person of vibrant spirit, known for her infectious laugh that could light up any room. Her love for fried chicken was legendary, and there was nothing more important to her than gathering with her family around the dinner table for any occasion. She was completely selfless when it came to her children and grandchildren, always putting their needs first and ensuring that they felt supported and loved.
In addition to her dedication to her family, Peggy had a variety of hobbies and interests that enriched her life. She found joy in sewing and took great pride in crafting beautiful pieces for her loved ones. A passionate genealogist at heart, she enjoyed researching her family’s history, always eager to share the stories of her ancestors. She loved spending time at the beach, where she was raised when she was younger, and loved the feel of the sea breeze and the smell of the water.
Her grandchildren brought her immeasurable joy and sparked a twinkle in her eye, and a fire in her heart. Peggy adored them fiercely and lived for the moments spent with them, nurturing their spirits and celebrating their achievements.
Peggy is reunited with her parents, Harrison Austell Carlan and Mable Marie Carlan; brothers, Gary and Kenneth; and sister, Susan.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 46 years, Robert Gray, who stood by her side through every challenge and triumph. Together, they painted a beautiful canvas of love and companionship that will forever be treasured in the hearts of those who knew them. She also leaves her memories to her children, Michael (Jackie) Gray, Steven (Katie) Gray, and Jeanette Gray; cherished grandchildren, Morgan, Michael, Madeline, Jenny, Lily, Jacob, and Andrew; and precious great-granddaughter, Jocelyn.
As we bid farewell to Peggy, let us remember the warmth of her presence, the joy she brought into our lives, and the legacy of love she leaves behind. Though she has departed from this earthly realm, her spirit will continue to shine through the hearts of her family and friends, reminding us always to cherish one another with the same fervor and love Peggy so generously shared.
