Patsy Ann Galloway Daws

Patsy Anne Galloway Daws was born in Olney, Texas on June 17, 1931 to Ola Mae and Ed Galloway. Pat grew up in Wichita Falls, TX. In 1953, she married Charles Turner Daws, and were by each others side for 67 years. In 1955, Pat graduated from North TX St. University in Education and was a member of the Zeta Tav Alpha Sorority. Upon graduation, Pat and Charlie moved back to Wichita Falls briefly before moving to Abilene, and then finally to Mathis in 1962. Pat and Charlie began their family having two sons, Brad and Rodd Daws of Mathis. Upon moving to Mathis, Charlie began farming and ranching and Pat began her teaching career for Mathis I.S.D. lasting 34 years as a Second grade and Reading teacher. (Which her grandchildren have some unfond memories of.) Pat was known for many things, her infectious smile, her contagious laugh, the infamous mandatory Christmas Eve parties, which each family always had the customary front door photo before you left. Can't forget her homemade hot fudge sundaes and bowls of "Pink Junk." Pat was especially known for always being ready to serve you a margarita whenever you came for a visit. She definitely earned the title "Hostess with the Mostest," Even though she had her two sons, there was a group of girls that relied on her as a surrogate mother and loved hosting slumber parties and get togethers for no apparent reason. Pat also possessed the ability to smell a 60% off sale at Dillard's 50 miles away. Pat and her family enjoyed many summer vacations visiting the family home at Lake of the Woods, Ontario, Canada. Where they spent time fishing, boating, and enjoying the great outdoors. They also took many trips in their motorhome to Colorado, Florida or to wherever sounded fun. Since their retirement, they have enjoyed their time on Lake Corpus Christi in their home. Pat is survived by her loving husband, Charles Turner Daws; two sons, Brad Daws and Rodd Daws. Pats grandchildren, April, Frank, Kimberly, Kaleb, and Kacey; two great-granddaughters, Camdyn and Haisley. She is also survived by her sister in law, Betty Jeans Daws of Throckmorton, TX and many nieces and nephews who adored their Aunt Pat. She is celebrating in Heaven with those that went before her, Pat's Mom and Dad; Cousins, Ladd, Jan and Larry Galloway; brother and sister in laws, Bill and Betty Daws, Pauline, Alex and Paula Sue Daws, Grace Daws and Ben Daws. The family is most grateful for the love and support of Pat's caretaker and partner in crime for the 7 years, Rose Brosig. Whenever they were out and about at H.E.B., Walmart or on visits, Pat always introduced her as "My Best Friend". And we so appreciate her love. Family graveside services are October 7, 2020.
