Patricia Bush

Patricia “Ann” Moseley Bush – 87 of Portland, Texas passed away surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, April 27, 2025. Ann was born to Jack and Lilian Moseley on July 19, 1937, in her grandparents’ home in Upper Tadmarton, Oxfordshire, England. Ann spent most of her younger years in and around Banbury, England. She had such fond memories of those days and told many stories of being evacuated to the countryside during the war and living on the farm.

Ann met an “American Bloke”, Ed Bush, in 1974 and they married in 1975. When Ed’s tour in England finished, they moved to Oklahoma until Ed retired from the Air Force and moved to Sugarland, Texas. They finally settled in Portland to make their home.

Ann was a member of First United Methodist Church of Portland. She particularly enjoyed working with the “log rolling team” who prepared the monthly newsletter for mailing. The love and fellowship of her church sustained her after Ed’s death. Ann was also a member of ChatWork Civic Club. Ann never met a stranger and made an impression everywhere she went.

Ann returned home to her beloved England many times over the years to visit family and friends. Both Ed and Ann loved to travel, especially with her cousin, Pete and his wife Kate. Oh, the adventures they had and the stories they would tell.

Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Bush and both her mother and father. She is survived by her children, Ellen Bush Broussard, Edward Bush, Jr. and his wife Tricia, Charles Bush and his wife Julia, Teresa Bush and her wife Laura, 11 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 1 great, great grandchild.

Ann will be laid to rest on Thursday, May 8 at 10:00 a.m. at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery in Corpus Christi, Texas.

A service to celebrate Ann’s life will be held Thursday, May 8 at the First United Methodist Church in Portland, Texas at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Barbara Aziz.
