Obituary

Pamela Hunter, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on March 7, 2026, in San Antonio, Texas. Born on April 7, 1952, in Roswell, New Mexico, she grew up with a spirit that was as bright as her beautiful smile—one that touched the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Pamela graduated from Goddard High School in 1970, where her vibrant personality shone through as she served as a wonderful cheerleader. She brought a sense of joy and enthusiasm to every endeavor, becoming a cherished figure in her community. Her career in the insurance industry spanned many years, during which she demonstrated her commitment to helping others. At home, she always ran a tight ship while ensuring that those around her felt cared for and supported.

On February 9, 1988, Pamela married her cherished husband, Wayne Hunter, in a joyful ceremony in Las Vegas, Nevada. Together they created a home filled with love, laughter, and the warmth of many memories. Pamela was not only a loving wife but also an exceptional mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Pamela adored animals, particularly dogs and cats, sharing her home with the furry companions she loved so dearly. She found delight in mowing the grass, referring to it as her exercise, and she took immense pleasure in cooking for her family, always ensuring that there was something delicious to share at the dinner table. Her remarkable memory meant that she never forgot anyone who crossed her path, nor any detail, no matter how small. This kind of attentiveness made her a steadfast friend and confidante, always willing to lend an ear or a helping hand to anyone in need. Pamela's legacy is marked by her selflessness, her engaging spirit, and her love for those around her.

Pamela is reunited with her father, Edsel Barr Neff; mother, Mary Geneva Edwards Neff; and her sister, Cecilia Neff. She leaves her memories to her beloved husband of 38 years, Wayne Hunter; son, Alton Wayne (Jennifer) McGuiffin; stepdaughter, Stacey (John) White; ten grandchildren, Emily, Matthew, Jacob, Ryan, Ethan, Erick, Seth, Caylee, Morgan, and Kennedy; numerous great-grandchildren; brothers, Edsel Neff and Warren Neff; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Pamela Hunter will be remembered not only for her passions in life but also so for her loving nature and the light she brought into the lives of everyone around her. She will be deeply missed, yet her memory will continue to inspire and uplift her family and friends for years to come.
