Olga Gonzalez Martinez was welcomed into Heaven at age 75 on September 11, 2021, while surrounded by her family. Olga was born on March 14, 1946, in Kingsville, TX to Rogelio and Maria Gonzalez.
Olga had a bold, kind-hearted spirit. She was a beautiful person, inside and out. She loved all things nature, especially flowers and birds and saw the beauty in every corner of life. She took pride in her appearance and loved to dress to the season. She enjoyed decorating her house for the holidays and listening to positive, and encouraging music. But most of all, Olga loved her husband, children, and grandchildren. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grand mother, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be dearly missed by all whose lives she touched. Olga will always be remembered as a strong woman of faith and for her deep devotion to the Lord. She was a Lector and dedicated parishioner of the Ricardo Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ricardo, TX.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Armando Gonzales and Isaac Gonzalez; sister Fela Rios: and granddaughter, Mariel Martinez.
Among those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 49 years, Nerio Martinez; her children, Jorge (Cristina) Martinez of Boerne; Vanessa (Lee Roy) Quintanilla of Corpus Christi; and Laura (Javier) Mercado of Kingsville, and her siblings Rogelio Gonzalez, Sylvia Godoy, Alma Cooper, Joe Alvarado, and Rene Alvarado, as well as 8 grandchildren; Marcus and Emma Martinez; Jon David, Ryan, and Lee Roy Quintanilla; Desiree, Mariah, and Isabelle Mercado, along with two great-granddaughter; Layla Quintanilla and Rosalie Quintanilla. Numerous friends and extended family.
Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours at Kingsville Memorial Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 from 5-8pm with a rosary at 7pm that same evening. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10am on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church. Her burial will follow at the Kingsville Resthaven Cemetery.
