Noemi “Mimi” Salinas Obregon

Born to Luis Salinas and Epifania Lara on April 11, 1965, she graduated from Gregory-Portland High School in 1983.   She attended Del Mar College. Mimi married the love of her life, Juan Obregon on December 29, 1984. Together they raised two handsome young men; Marcos and John Adam.

Mimi was very active at Immaculate Conception Church of Gregory, where she volunteered as a Eucharistic Minister, Religious Education, and several other ministries. She was a staple at just about every Gregory-Portland sport game. She worked for Gregory-Portland ISD for 35 years, where she was loved by all who knew her.

Mimi is preceded in death by her grandparents Luis and Jovita Lara; parents, Luis and Epifania and sister Lydia. She is survived by her husband Juan Obregon of Gregory, TX; two sons, Marcos (Christina) Obregon of Portland, TX and John Adam (Sandra) Obregon of Corpus Christi, TX; one sister, Norma Garcia of Gregory TX; and five brothers: Eddie (Nelda) Salinas of Portland, TX; Harvey (Patricia) Salinas of Portland TX; Roland (Mary) Salinas of Portland, TX;  Joe (Mary Ester) Salinas of Taft TX; and Roel Salinas of Gregory, TX.  She also is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Mimi leaves behind one grandson, Marcos Obregon, Jr.

Services for Mimi will be held at Limbaugh Funeral home in Portland, Texas.  A viewing will be held on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 from 2:00 PM – 8:00 PM with Rosary recited at 7:00 PM. Mass will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Gregory on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at 10:00 AM. Burial to follow at Gregory Cemetery. The family would like to thank all friends, co- workers, and family for making Mimi’s last few weeks comfortable for her.
