In sadness we announce that on July 4, 2015, Michael Anthony Pena, 26, of Kingsville, Texas passed from this life to the next in Houston, Texas after a courageous battle with a lifelong illness. He was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph T. (Joey) Lee II; and his great-grandfather Augustin M. Hinojosa, Jr., both of Kingsville. Michael graduated in 2008 from H.M. King High School in Kingsville, where he was a member of the boys Brahma varsity basketball team as a manager. He was an avid gamer, spending hours of quality life moments with his friends in online gaming sessions. He loved life and the outdoors, and could quite often be found relaxing with his feet up around a fire with his family. He was often referred to as "Uncle Coco" by his nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly and enjoyed spending his time with. Michael had a great love for his family, his friends and especially for his two best friends, Bailey Benys and Monique (Nikki) Flores, who were so supportive of him and always there for him when he needed them most. Michael is survived by his parents, Betty and Joseph Lee of Kingsville; his sisters Cassie (Danny) Rangel of North Richland Hills, Robin (Homer) Garza, Sabrina Jennings and Arikka Lee all of Kingsville, three nieces, Audrina, Aliyah and Ayva; two nephews, Adrian and Christopher; his grandparents, Lisa and Alonzo Gonzales of Kingsville, Jackie Porter of Kingsville, Consuelo Hinojosa of Ricardo; his uncle, Richard Villarreal of Kingsville; and numerous family members. Visitation will be held on Wednesday July 8, 2015 from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. for the family and 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. for friends and visitors at Kingsville Memorial Funeral Home on 2303 General Cavazos Blvd in Kingsville. Chapel services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on July 9, 2015 at Kingsville Memorial Funeral Home with interment at Chamberlain Cemetery in Kingsville immediately following.
