Maxine Wilson Glasson

Maxine Wilson Glasson, affectionately known as "Mimi", 83, peacefully passed away on June 2, 2011 with her family by her side. Maxine was born on July 24, 1927 in Robstown, Texas to Reginald George and Mallie Gertrude Wilson.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years James Avery Glasson Jr., her parents Reginald and Mallie Wilson, sisters Thelma Wilson Grove, Reg Mae Wilson Rosebraugh, Arline Wilson Mayes, Katie Wilson Kilpatrick and brothers John Wilson, James Warren Wilson. And Wayne Ligon Wilson.
She is survived by her three children, Linda Janeen McAllister (Alex) of Denton, Texas, Cynthia Ann Talley (Jeff) of Tallahassee, Florida, and Mark Gregory Glasson (Mary) of Corpus Christi, Texas. She is also survived by her brother Ralph Wilson of Corpus Christi, Texas. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren: Jason Lee Smart (Lisa), Jeremy Alan Smart Penney), Jody Brandon Smart (Kenna), Jordan Avery Griffith (Travis), Braden Chandler Glasson, and Jared Alexander Glasson and 4 great grandchildren: Rhyann, John, Jayden, Kelbi, and Tanner.
Maxine worked for the First National Bank of Taft, Taft High School principal's secretary, and was secretary to the superintendent of schools for 23 years. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Taft, lifetime member of the Women of the Church, Sunday school teacher, choir, and she served as an elder on the session. Maxine also served as President of the Taft Junior Women's Club and a member of the Taft Woman's Club, and Taft Library Board. She belonged to the San Patricio County Retired Teacher's Association and a member of the Taft AARP organization.
The family will be receiving friends from 5:00 p.m. to 700 p.m. Sunday, June 5, 2011 at the First
Presbyterian Church Parlor in Taft, Texas. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 6, 2011 at the First Presbyterian Church Taft. Private family service will be held at the graveside.
The family would like to thank Lighthouse Hospice, Dr. Jerome Lee Sang, Lee Sutton RN, Faye Kocurek and Ellie Villarreal of Visiting Angels for making her final journey in life so peaceful.
