Mary Linda Cain

Mary Linda Cain, beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister and friend passed away on September 1st, 2025, peacefully in her sleep. Mary Linda Cain was born February 28th, 1949, in Tomnolen Mississippi. She was 76 years old at the time of her passing.

Linda had a passion for teaching, being a listening ear, and giving support to her family, friends, and community. She was a loving wife for 57 years. Her greatest joy was her love for her family, friends and Christ. She was a source of strength, kindness and empathy for her family and friends. She was a member of Oak Ridge Baptist church in Portland, Texas, for over 30 years.

Linda Cain is survived by husband Terry Cain Jr. of Portland Texas, son’s Terry Wayne Cain of Franklin Tennessee and James Pruitt Cain of Greeneville Tennessee, grandchildren Madison Holman, Jacob Cain, and Allie Cain of Greeneville Tennessee, siblings Rachel Tew, Jimmy Pruitt and Benny Pruitt along with multiple nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by Father James Harold Pruitt, Mother Mary Etta Pruitt, Sister Bettye Sue Pruitt Tumey, and Brother Donald Wayne Pruitt.

There will be a Celebration of Life planned for Linda Cain at a date and time to be decided. There will be a private family gathering to scatter her ashes per her wishes at a later date and time. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for spiritual support in this time of need or memorialize her by sharing an act of kindness to others in need.
