Martha Louise Elkins, age 91 went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 27, 2022. Martha was born November 22, 1931 in Johnson City, Texas to the late Andrew and Lula Criswell.
 
She graduated in 1948 from Lyndon B. Johnson High School in Johnson City, Texas. Shortly after graduation at age 17, Martha married her husband of 63 years, James Odell Elkins. Martha went to work for JCPenney for several years before she became a homemaker and stayed home to raise her two sons. Martha loved to sew, cook, farm/ranch and dancing.
 
Martha is preceded in death by her Father, Andrew Criswell; Mother, Lula Criswell; Husband, James Elkins; Sons, Paul Elkins and Randy Elkins; Sisters, Ruby Crumley, Gloria Danz and Hester McClain; Brother, Cris Criswell; Daughter In Law, Patti Elkins.
 
Martha is survived by her Granddaughter, Brandy Gros of Portland, Texas; Grandson, Eric Elkins of Corpus Christi, Texas; Great Grandson, Broc Mumme of Portland, Texas. Martha leaves behind many others to cherish her memory.
 
Visitation will be Thursday, June 2, 2022 from 5pm-8pm at Dobie Funeral Home in Mathis, Texas. Graveside services will be Friday, June 3, 2022 at 10am at Cenzio Hill Cemetery in Mathis, Texas
