Marie T. Burrus

Marie Pesek Burrus, age 91, passed away at home on Tuesday, October 18, 2016. Born in Wied, Texas, into a Czech farm family as the 8^th of 13 children, she has been a resident of Portland and active member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church since 1962. She was preceded in death by her son Jimmy Burrus. She is survived by husband James Burrus; son Robert Burrus of Yellowstone, Wyoming; daughters Jan Moody (Mike) of San Marcos and Rosanne Miles (Terry) of Portland. She also has 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Friday, October 21, 2016 and a funeral mass at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 22, 2016 , both at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Portland, Texas.
