Margarita S. Saenz

Margarita S. Saenz, 93, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2026, at her home, surrounded by the love of her family, with her daughter by her side. She was born on April 22, 1933, to Rafael M.M. and Juanita A. Salinas, and lived a life defined by faith, family, perseverance, and love. Margarita was one of eleven children. She attended Austin Elementary School and Taft High School. She met and married the love of her life, Pedro M. Saenz, and together they shared 66 years of marriage. Their life together was blessed with four children. Margarita was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, Pedro M. Saenz, and her son, Samuel “Sammy” Saenz. She is survived by her children, Victor (Anna), Wilma (Tom), and Peter (Viola) and daughter-in-law Sally; nine grandchildren, Amanda (Robert), Victor Manuel (Kenya), Carolina (Sergio), Jenna (Crystal), Eva (Marc), Hunter (Kelsie), Analisa (R.V.), Sammy, and Anthony (Ashley); and 23 great-grandchildren, who were truly the apple of her eye. Family and faith were at the heart of Margarita’s life. She was a devoted member of Templo Betel Church, where her faith remained an important source of strength throughout her life. She cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved spending time with them. She would do anything for her family and took great pride and joy in watching each generation grow. Margarita was a woman of remarkable determination and ambition. She worked for the City of Kingsville for 32 years, beginning her career as a clerk and eventually becoming the City Tax Assessor-Collector, a position she held until her retirement.

Retirement, however, did not slow Margarita down. She went on to build S & S Abstract & Title Company, turning a dream she had carried for years into a reality. She ran the company until she became ill. Margarita was business-savvy, driven, and independent. She believed in setting goals and, no matter how difficult the path, accomplishing what she set out to do. Her strength and determination were an inspiration to those who knew and loved her. One of Margarita’s greatest joys was her love of oak trees. Everywhere she went, she would gather acorns, plant them in Styrofoam cups, and lovingly nurture them until they grew. She would then replant or sell the young oak trees. This simple passion brought her tremendous happiness and was a beautiful reflection of her patience, nurturing spirit, and love of nature. After the passing of her husband, Margarita found special companionship and comfort in her two little Chihuahua dogs, Posey and Panchito. There was a very special love between them, and they brought her great comfort and companionship during her later years. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Sandra Garcia, Aleita Cortez, and Diana Mendez, who provided exceptional care for Margarita in her home. Their love, dedication, and support allowed the family to have more precious time with their mother and meant more than words can express. The family also extends a special and heartfelt thank you to Karen K. Gutierrez and Lane Gutierrez with Trinity Hospice. Their unwavering kindness, compassion, and support for Margarita and her family were truly one of a kind. Their care brought comfort and peace during a very difficult time. Margarita leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, strength, determination, and devotion to family. She showed those around her what it meant to work hard, pursue your dreams, care deeply for others, and never give up. Her memory will live on in her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.

Visitation will be held Thursday, September 10, 2026 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., followed by a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m., at Winsteads’ Funeral Home, 2303 E. General Cavazos Blvd., Kingsville, Texas.

A final viewing will take place on Friday, September 11, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Templo Betel Asamblea de Dios, located at 628 E. Richard Ave., Kingsville, Texas 78363. The Funeral Service will begin at 10:00 AM at the same location. Following the service, interment will take place at Santa Gertrudis Cemetery in Kingsville, Texas.
