on July 24, 2023. She was born and raised in Mathis, Texas to Florence May Nelson and

29 years, Charles Whipple. She is survived by her sister Alene Poindexter, and sons Buddy
(Sharon) Galloway, Scott (Marie) Galloway, Lindy (Belia) Galloway, Gregg (Yvonne) Galloway,
Mike Galloway, David (Karen) Whipple, and Alice (Golbert) Faucheux. Her grandchildren include

Dylan Buffington, Devin (Dylan) Vergason, Hailey (Robert) Galvan, Kristin Castillo, Gerad
(LeeAnn) Galloway, Megan Galloway and twenty- two great grandchildren.
Known to many as Margaret Ann, but to her family as “Mom”, “Grandma” and
“Meemaw”. During her lifetime, she made an impact on everyone; those she beat on the tennis
court, or who she came across as the little league scorekeeper and president. She made friends
everywhere she went, whether at work or at the grocery store. She was a devoted member of
the Church of Christ and was there anytime she could be. She loved to sing with her five boys,
but mostly she loved just being their mom. She took over her family farm in 1972 which was
purchased in 1900 by her grandfather, Jessie Nelson, while continuing to work at the Texas
Department of Human Services.
In her later years, Meemaw spent many hours at sporting events, watching her grand
children and traveling with her beloved Whip. As you drove by her house, you probably saw her
pulling weeds or tending to her bluebonnets and garden.
Many thanks to her wonderful caregivers, supportive family members and wonderful
neighbors throughout the years.
