Margaret R. Palacios

Margaret R. Palacios passed away peacefully July 9, 2022. She was 90. Margaret was born on June 1, 1932 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Leonedes and Ester Ramos. She was the oldest of two children. Her brother Rey Ramos passed on at the age of five. She was a long time resident of Corpus Christi, Texas. Margaret graduated from Roy Miller High School and attended Del Mar. She worked at many different jobs including: grocery cashier and retired from Central Service department at Spohn Shoreline.

She was preceded in death by her parents Leondes and Ester Ramos; husband, Amando Palacios; brother, Rey Ramos; and son, Amando Palacios Jr; daughter-in law Maria Del Carmen Zapata-Palacios. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Sylvia and Mike Nugent of Aransas Pass, Texas; Richard Palacios Austin, Texas; Belinda Trevino of Harlingen, Texas; Gloria and Adrial Vela, of San Antonio, Texas; Joe and Sheila Palacios, of Corpus Christi, Texas, Thomas Luis and Heather Palacios. The Grandchildren and Great- Grandchildren whom she loved and was very proud of; Brant and Sarah Nugent- Isabelle, Allyson, Emilie, and Abagail Nugent; Richard Jr. and Branda Palacios- Christian, Kevin, Emma Davis, Aria, Hudson, Judas Palacios; Michael Richard Palacios; Daniel Richard Palacios; Amanda, Adrian and Brandy Trevino; Anomie and Armando Gonzalez- Esteban and Emma Gonzalez; Adrial David and Jackie Vela- Amia and Elias Vela; Joe Ruben Palacios.  A special thanks from the family to her friends and neighbors Esther Medina, Heather Shelton and Alice (Bobbie) Guevara.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00pm Thursday, July 14, 2022 with the rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm that same evening at Winsteads' Funeral Home, 500 Wildcat Dr., Portland, TX. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am Friday, July 15, 2022 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church 1008 Austin St. Portland, Tx. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Margaret’s memory to Works of Charity, Our Lady of Mount Carmel, 1008 Austin, Portland, Texas, 78374
