Malvina Viola Canales passed away peacefully on March 13, 2024, at the age of 78, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 8, 1945, in San Diego, Texas, to Gilberto T. Garcia and Luisa N. Garcia. Malvina was preceded in death by her husband Emiliano Canales Sr., her parents, and her brother and sister-in-law, James Partain and Oralia Garcia. She is survived by her children: Emiliano Jr, Leticia (Joe Henry) Salinas, Luis Gilberto - LG (Brenda), and Omar (Kristine). Her legacy lives on through her 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, siblings Angel Partain and Gil G Garcia, and numerous nieces and nephews.
As a wife to the late Emiliano Canales Sr, Malvina was the epitome of devotion, standing by her partner through thick and thin, sharing in life's joys and sorrows with unwavering strength and love. Their marriage was a beacon of love and commitment, inspiring all who knew them.
As a mother to Emi, Leticia, LG, and Omar, Malvina was a source of boundless love and guidance, shaping the lives of her children with wisdom and tenderness. Her unconditional love knew no bounds, and her children were her greatest pride and joy.
Malvina's love extended to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, showering them with affection and wisdom. She created lasting bonds and unforgettable moments that will be treasured for generations to come. Her presence brought light and laughter to family gatherings, and her love will continue to be felt in the hearts of all who knew her.
Malvina was a woman of grace and generosity, always lending a helping hand to those in need. She had a deep passion for Elvis and enjoyed the excitement of going to the casino. In a world often dimmed by indifference, she was a beacon of love. Her kindness and empathy knew no bounds, making everyone she encountered feel cherished and valued. She never judged anyone and embraced all with open arms.
For 34 years, Malvina dedicated herself to the Kingsville School District and Food Service Department, where she made a difference in the lives of countless students. Her commitment and passion for children were evident in her every action.
A rosary service will be held in honor of Malvina on Monday, March 18th, with a viewing at 5pm and the rosary at 7pm. The funeral will take place on Tuesday at 12 pm at St. Martin's Catholic Church, followed by a burial. Donations can be made in Malvina's honor to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, a cause that was close to her heart.
Malvina Viola Canales will be deeply missed by her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Though she may be gone from our sight, her spirit will live on in the countless lives she touched with her love and kindness. May she rest in eternal peace.
