Madeline Rae Pena

Madeline “Madi” Rae Peña died on January 27, 2018. She was eight years old. She died in Portland, Texas from her final epileptic seizure. Madi fought Dravet Syndrome her entire life, and fought it like a fierce warrior, yet she did not have a mean bone in her entire body and was the kindest and most gentle person. She was a true diva/fashionista, pushing the fashion envelope with confidence and flare.  She spread happiness and kindness everywhere she went even when she was not feeling the best. 

 

Madi is preceded in death by her uncle Miguel Angel Peña and her great uncle Esequiel Ramirez, Jr. Madi is survived by her parents Reynaldo and Ruth Peña; brother Alejandro (Alex) Peña; sisters Angelica and Savanna Peña; paternal grandparents Albert III and Sylvia Peña; maternal grandparents Able Villarreal and Dolores Valenzuel; uncles Albert Peña, IV, Robert Peña, David Aguilar, Alex DeLeon, and Abel Villarreal, Jr.; aunts Yvette Peña, Diane Reyna, and Rachel Flores. She loved her great aunt‘s very much-Mary Lou Ramirez, Beatrice Ramirez, Nora Ramirez, Rosario Cardenas, and Lucy Barbosa, and her great uncle Lauro Ramirez..  She is also survived and loved by so many others that are too numerous to count. 

 

Madi is also survived by Shrek, Fiona, Donkey, Moana, Elsa, Anna, Jessie, Merida, Judy Hops, Peppa Pig, Barney, Marty, Melman, Alex, Gloria, and a whole host of other colorful characters. 


 

A viewing will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 PM this Friday, February 2nd at Limbaugh Funeral Home at 5th and Wildcat in Portland Texas, and funeral services will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, February 3rd at the First Baptist Church at 1305 Wildcat Dr. in Portland Texas.

Madi was a bright and colorful little girl and loved rainbows and butterflies.  Please join us in our celebration of her life, and please wear something colorful because she would not want it any other way. Remember.... She loved yellow!
