Lynne Douglass Nelson

Lynne Douglass Nelson passed away on Monday, January 4, 2021. After graduating from W.B. Ray High School in Corpus Christi, Texas, she attended the University of Texas where she took a degree in elementary education. She was a retired teacher, an active member of the Mathis Literary Society, The Corpus Christi Art Center, The Watercolor Society of South Texas, The Bay Area Art League, Past member of the N. W. Hospital Auxiliary, Monday Bridge Club, and volunteered at the Mathis Food Bank. She and her husband worship at the Mathis Church of Christ. Mrs. Nelson is survived by her husband of 60 years, Carroll Van (Cassie) Nelson; Two Sons, and Daughters-in-law, C.M. and Sue Nelson of Sugar Land, Texas and Douglass and Kristin Nelson of Bushland, Texas. She is survived by Four Grandchildren; Porter (Chelsea) Nelson of Katy, Texas, Megan (Troy) Mowatt of Baytown, Texas, Rebecca (Cory) Carpenter of Hondo, Texas, and Troy Nelson of Bushland, Texas; Four Great Grandchildren; Sydney, Hannah, Emmalynn, and Raelynn; Numerous Nieces and Nephews. Private Graveside services will be conducted on January 6, 2021 at Tom Mathis Cemetery. In lieu of Flowers, expression of sympathy may be made to the American Cancer Society or to a favored charity of your choice.
