Lyndle Joe Betz

   Lyndle Joe Betz, age 87, of Portland Texas, passed away on January 12, 2020 after a short illness.   We are comforted in knowing he is with the Lord, our Savior, in Heaven.  We will carry his memory in our hearts forever. 

   Lyndle Betz was born in Snowhill, Arkansas to Oscar Joe and Katie Mae Betz on February 17, 1932.  He was raised in Kilgore, Texas and is an Air Force Veteran.  He worked at Celenese Technical Center for about 35 years until his retirement in 1994. 

   He devoted his life to his loving wife, Edna Leigh.  He was a wonderful husband who provided for and loved her very much.  They made their home in Portland, Texas where they raised their family of three sons and a daughter.  They recently celebrated their 59th Anniversary this past September. 

   Lynn loved being with family and watching his family grow over the years.  He enjoyed camping with his family, bird watching, and working in his yard.    

   He is preceded in death by his parents, a sister Lynette McGaugh, and a brother John Betz.  He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife, Edna Leigh; his children Kelly Betz (Jacki), Michael Betz (Stephanie), Lana Farr (Paul), and Jason Betz;   7 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren; and his brother-in-law Mackey McGaugh.

Graveside service will begin at 11:00 AM on Wednesday January 15, 2020 at Palms Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Portland.
