Rev. Leroy Holliday

Rev Lee Roy Holliday was born on October 21, 1939 in Bishop Texas to Robert Roy Holliday and Alberta Holliday. During his High School years. He received his formal education in Bishop Consolidated School District at Frederick Douglass School of the Kingsville Independent School District where he excelled in singing and music; he also played the trumpet. At the age of 10 Lee accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized at New Hope Baptist Church in Bishop Texas. He enlisted in the United States Air Force and served for four years. He received a lifetime operators license in broadcasting from the United States Federal Communications Commission, he also attended St. Phillips College in San Antonio Texas where he studied law. He also attended Howard Payne University in Corpus Christi Texas.

Rev. Lee Roy Holliday loved the Lord, he was ordained as a preacher and licensed to preach, was called to Pastor at Friendship Baptist Church in Kingsville, Texas for 8 years. He pastored one year at New Macedonia Baptist Church in Paramount, Texas. He later returned to Austin, Texas where he was the assistant Pastor of the late Rev. Gary D Brown Sr; at Friendship Community Baptist Church in Austin, Texas for 20 years.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Roy Holliday and mother Alberta Holliday, sons Harold Holliday, Lee Roy Holliday Jr., Gerold Holliday, and James Adams, sisters Irene Chase, Catherine Holliday Bell, and Cornine Holliday Gaines.

Rev. Lee Roy Holliday is survived by his loving and caring wife, Louise Jones Holliday married 36 years of Austin, Texas Daughters, Barbara Holliday of San Antonio Texas, Beverly Guess of Ft. Worth Texas. His siblings James Holliday (Lynette) of Jonestown Oklahoma, Tommy Holliday (Marilyn) of Sinton, Texas, Lloyd Holliday (Erica) of Kingsville, Julius Holliday of Kingsville Texas. Also a caring family Mia Williams Page, Sir Lee Williams (Vaneisa) all of Austin Texas, Shelton Williams (Gloria), Estelle Jones Soto of Houston Texas, a very close cousin  Odell Melton of Kingsville, a close friend Stephen Hinkson of Austin Texas. A host of grandchildren, great grandchildren nieces, nephews family and friends.
