Julian Viduarri Guzman, affectionately known as "Turkey," was born on January 28, 1935, in Mathis, Texas. He passed away peacefully on January 16, 2026, in the same beloved town he called home. Julian was a cherished member of his community and a devoted family man whose spirit will be deeply missed.
Throughout his lifetime, Julian led a multifaceted career, serving as a radio operator in Floydada, Texas, and later as a private investigator. His dedication to his work was paralleled by his love for music; Julian found joy in playing the piano and guitar and was often heard singing, bringing cheer to those around him. He had a unique and vibrant personality, characterized as a jokester who always shared a laugh, making up jokes that highlighted his playful spirit.
Julian was proud to be a member of Templo Gethsemani Cladic in Mathis, Texas, where he found fellowship and support among his peers. He enjoyed the camaraderie and shared faith, reinforcing the connections that brought him joy throughout his life.
Julian is preceded in death by his parents, Eusebio Guzman and Esperanza Viduarri Guzman, as well as his sisters, Olivia Garcia and Virginia Ortiz. He is survived by his beloved wife of 21 years, Isabel R. Guzman; his children, Andres Guzman and Anna Maria Rodriguez; his grandchildren, Priscilla Guzman Gonzalez, Juan Julian Sanchez, Stacey Marie Rodriguez, Andy Guzman Jr., and Susie Guzman; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Balente Guzman; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who brought indescribable joy to his life.
The family expresses their heartfelt gratitude to Mi Casa Hospice and all family and friends for their prayers and compassionate care during this time.
Visitation will be held from 2 PM until 9 PM on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at Winsteads' Funeral Home, where a Prayer Service will be held that same evening at 7 PM. A Funeral Celebration will begin at 10 AM on his 91st birthday, Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at Winsteads' Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Descanso Eterno II.
Julian Viduarri Guzman will forever be remembered for his laughter, love, and the happiness he brought to everyone who had the privilege to know him.
