John C. Moriarty

John C. Moriarty, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on November 19, 2025, while relaxing by the refreshing waters of Lake Corpus Christi. Born on March 2, 1952, in Omaha, Nebraska, John’s warm spirit and zest for life left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

For 35 years, from 1980 to 2015, John dedicated his professional life to the craft of cabinet sales, where his integrity and commitment transcended the realm of business. Yet it was his personality that truly resonated with those around him. Many affectionately referred to him as “St. John,” a testament to his generous nature and the way he gave selflessly to all he encountered. With a heart as big as his laughter, John’s light-hearted demeanor reminded us of his favorite character, Goofy, in that he embodied a similar joyful spirit.

John found joy in the simple pleasures of life; whether he was camping, woodworking, or fishing, his creativity knew no bounds. He was especially proud of his skills in carpentry, taking immense pride in each project he undertook. His favorite college football team was the Nebraska Cornhuskers, and he could often be found cheering them on in front of the television.

Family was the cornerstone of John’s existence. He leaves behind two devoted sons, Jason (Cheryl) Moriarty and Brian (Pam) Moriarty, who carry forth his legacy of kindness and love. His four grandchildren, Tyler, Ashley, Jace, and Fiona, were the apples of his eye, and he cherished every moment spent watching their sports games, celebrating their victories, and being a steadfast supporter in their lives. John also shared a close bond with his siblings, including his sisters, Ellen Richardson, Mary Catherine "Cass" Mathers, and Melanie Ellerd, as well as his brothers, Charles Moriarty and Daniel Moriarty. They will undoubtedly miss his vibrant spirit and warm presence that filled family gatherings with joy.

John is reunited with his parents, John and Margaret Helen (Connolly) Moriarty; sister, Teresa Davidson; and brothers, Mike Moriarty and Mark Moriarty, who undoubtedly welcomed him with open arms as he transitioned to the next chapter.

As we reflect on John’s life, we remember a man who lived fully and loved deeply. His laughter, generosity, and light-hearted nature will be sorely missed but never forgotten, as his legacy continues to shape the hearts of his loved ones. Rest in peace, dear John.
