Jean C. Guin, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on September 28, 2024 in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was born on March 29, 1932, in Chatham, Louisiana, to Luther and Ella Carpenter. Jean was known for her love of square dancing and traveling. She had a fierce independence and loved to cook and bake.

Jean was an artist and had many hobbies which included quilting and painting.

Jean cherished spending time with her family, and her warmth love created lasting memories that will be fondly remembered by those she leaves behind. Her legacy lives on through her surviving daughter, Roxie (John) Harwell, and her brother, Pete Carpenter. Jean was a proud grandmother to Heather, Sean, Kendra, Jason, Shanna, Joshua, Sarah, Sheree, Stephen, and Brandy with 16 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Charlie A. Guin, as well as her parents, Luther and Ella Carpenter. Jean was also preceded by her sons, Michael E. Parker and Stephen E. Parker; brothers, JB, Harry, and LC Carpenter; her sister, Nita Stevenson; granddaughter, Ashley Mehgan Harwell.

Jean C. Guin leaves behind a rich tapestry of love, kindness, and sassiness, a testament to a life well-lived in the service of family and friends. She will be dearly missed and forever cherished in the hearts of all who knew her. 

The family would like to give a special thanks to all the staff and aids of The Villa Northwest. 

A Memorial Service is scheduled at a later date in Louisiana.
