Isabel Soto Rivas, 78, died Thursday February 2, 2023 at his home in Mathis, Texas.

Isabel was born June17, 1944 in Poteet, Texas to Cristobal and Paula Rivas. Isabel loved the Dallas Cowboys, he enjoyed gathering with his brothers and nephews to cookout, hang around the bonfire to sing and dance. He was a hard worker who worked all his life to provide for his family. He had a kind heart and soul, he would give anyone the shirt off of his back if they needed it.

Isabel is proceeded in death by his parents, Cristobal and Paula Rivas, his son Isabel Junior Rivas, four brothers, Armando, Andres, Pablo and Alfredo Rivas, and one sister, Ramona Pena.

Isabel is survived by his wife, Gloria Trevino Rivas, four daughters, Betty Rivas, Debbie (Ismael) Garcia, Mary Jane (Manuel) Hernandez, and Irene (Adam) Gonzales. One son, Alfredo (Denise) Rivas, all of Amarillo, Texas. Three sisters, Maria (Felix) Carranza of Mathis, Tx, Margarita, Herrera of Mathis, Tx, and Martha Perez of San Antonio, Tx. Five Brothers, Valdemir Rivas of Minnesota, Samuel Rivas of Mathis, Tx, Joe (Mary- Jane) Rivas, and Santos Rivas, of Mathis, Tx, and Mike Rivas of Michigan.  Five grand daughters Nicole (Alex) Martinez, Kristina Ramos, Amanda Rivas, Ashley Calvillo, Erica (Casey) Ruggles. Six grand sons, Esteban and Adam Ceballos, Christian Mendoza, Richard Ochoa, and Joshua and Jude Hernandez. Twenty six great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren, all of Amarillo, Texas and many nieces and nephews who he loved dearly.

Visitation Wednesday February, 8, 2023 at 11 am with Rosary to follow at 7 pm at Dobie Funeral Home in Mathis, Texas. Funeral services will be held at Sacred Heart Church at 10 am sharp on Thursday February 9, 2023 in Mathis, Texas with burial to follow at Descanso Eterno #2 Cemetery in Mathis Texas.
