Isa Gonzales Olivares

Isa Olivarez went to Heaven on July 14, 2020 at the age of 89 in Corpus Christi, TX. He resided at Windsor Nursing Home in Calallen, TX.

Isa was born on February 20, 1931 in Lagarto, TX and resided mostly in Mathis, TX. He married the love of his life Rosa Herrera in 1947.  He was a faithful servant and member of Sacred Heart Church as a Mathis resident.

In 2011, his devoted wife went to Heaven after 64 years of marriage.  Isa was a man of God who was vibrant, charismatic, compassionate, jolly, and loved singing and dancing. He was a bulldozer operator by trade, avid hunter, loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather.

He was dearly loved by his family and friends. Isa enjoyed talking to everyone.  Indeed, he always initiated conversations.  His siblings called him Brother, his children called him Daddy, and his grandchildren called him Grandpa.  In fact, everyone lovingly called him Grandpa.

He was preceded in death by his parents Mauricio and Candida Olivarez; sister Santos Pineda; brothers Tomas and Juan Olivarez; wife Rosa Olivarez; children Margarita, David and Gilbert Olivarez; granddaughter Crystal Marie Lara.

He is survived by four brothers Alfredo, Jesus, Jose, and Lorenzo Olivarez; a sister Maria Gonzales; six children Teresa O. Camacho (Ernest), Erlinda O. Salazar (Robert), Esmeralda O. Olivarez (Butch), Diamantina O. Garcia (Ramiro), Candida O. Lara (Augustine), and Rosemary O. Garcia (Daniel); 23 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
