Hilda Jean Anthony

Hilda Jean Anthony of Mathis, Tx departed this life on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 in Corpus Christi, Tx. Hilda was born on October 9, 1947 in Meridian, Tx to Jose Schaefer and Henrietta Manson Wilber. She was preceded in death by her sister, GayeNell Mullenax, her father, Jose Schaefer, and her step-father, N.F. "Webb" Wilber. Left to cherish her memories are her mother Henri Wilber, her siblings, her daughter Tara (Scott) Lowe, two sons Tim Anthony and Drey (Brenda) Anthony, and her most treasured 8 grandkids. 

 

Hilda was the most caring and giving person you'd ever meet. She loved her life in her little town of Mathis. The only thing she loved more than gambling was all of her children and grandchildren. 

 

Hilda attended Corpus Christi schools, then raised her children in Calallen, and has resided in Mathis, Tx for the last 34 years where she has made many more friends. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your local homeless or animal shelter in her name. 

 

Celebration of life will be at the Mathis VFW on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm.
