Hector "Mono" Nieto Jr.

Hector "Mono" Nieto Jr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, was born on February 1, 1977, in Taft, Texas, and left this world on July 7, 2025, in Mathis, Texas. He lived a life that was vibrant and filled with laughter, inspiring those around him with his beautiful smile and contagious laugh. Known affectionately as "Mono," he brought joy to every gathering, embodying the spirit of a true jokster and prankster, always ready with a light-hearted tease that could uplift anyone’s day.

As a devoted Hot Shot Driver. This career reflected not only his adventurous spirit but also his hardworking nature. He poured all of his energy into every task he undertook, whether it was on the job or fixing cars and welding in his spare time. His passion for working with his hands extended to caring for his yard, where he found solace, and he enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, whether it was playing pool, barbequing or listening to music that lifted his soul.

Hector was deeply devoted to his family, always ready to lend a helping hand, particularly to his aunts, who appreciated his kindness and support. His legacy will shine brightly in the hearts of those fortunate enough to know him, particularly through the cherished moments he created  playing with his children, grandchildren and his best friend Blu. They will forever remember their father's, and grandfather's joyful spirit, infectious giggles, and an unwavering love that made every encounter special.

Hector is reunited with: Parents, Hector H. and Elia M. Nieto; Maternal Grandparent, Jose C. and Francisca T. Marin; Paternal Grandparents, Lucas H. and Maria H. Nieto.  

Hector leaves his loving memories to his beloved wife of 30 years, Mary Ramirez; 4 children, Emily Nieto (Andy), Crystal Nieto, Maribel Nieto (Matthew), Hector Nieto III; 6 Grandchildren, Eleanor Coronado, Andy Coronado Jr, Arya Coronado, Ares Coronado, Briana Nieto, Mateo Lopez; 1 Brother, Lucas Nieto; his devoted best friend, Blu Nieto (fur baby); 5 Nephews; 1 Niece; Numerous Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins. 

A special thank you goes out to his Cousins who where like brothers to him Pete Gonzales Jr., Jesus DeLeon Jr. and his friend Jose Zavala. 

Pall Bearers: Andy Coronado, Matthew Lopez, Pete Gonzales Jr., Jesus DeLeon Jr., Albert Nieto, Rudy Nieto Jr. 

Visitation will be held from 2 PM until 9 PM on Monday, July 14, 2025, at Winsteads' Funeral Home, where a Holy Rosary will be recited that same evening at 7 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 AM on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at Cenizo Hill Cemetery.

As we gather to remember Hector "Mono" Nieto Jr., let us carry forward his legacy of laughter and generosity, holding dear the memories of a man who brightened the lives of many. His spirit will forever remain a guiding light, reminding us of the importance of family, friendship, and the joy of living each day to the fullest.
