Harold Nelson Winsauer, Sr. passed away on March 10, 2021. He was born on February 21, 1934 in Mathis, Texas to Albert and Ida Winsauer. He married his soulmate, Paula Beyer, on November 28, 1953, lasting 67 years.
He is preceded in death by his Parents; Brothers, Delroy, and Alton Winsauer, and Great-Granddaughter Fiona Michelle Schroedter.
Growing up in a farming family, Harold had the love for it running through his veins. Later in life he was able to achieve his goal of cultivating the land. Before that he worked many long hours to provide for his family at Hess Refinery as well as owning a Texaco station. The man had amazing work ethics.
Harold was a Kiwanis Club member, a 20 year Mathis Volunteer fireman, and a member of the Mathis Masonic Lodge.
He loved his family. They brought him such happiness. His greatest joy was to spend time with them doing what he loved. Harold made sure his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren could fish, swim, and understood how to play dominoes. It should be mentioned that most of the time, he knew who had what dominoes and usually told the grandkids which ones to play. He was that good! Many wonderful memories for the Winsauer family were spent at Lake Mathis and Schlitterbaun in New Braunfels, as well as hunting, making sausage and just spending time together.
Harold loved the Lord. He and Paula faithfully attended First United Methodist Church as a family until health issues kept them at home. A Godly man, he was an amazing role model for not only his children, but grandchildren. It is a true testimony of who Harold was in watching his grandchildren continue his legacy of loving the Lord and wanting to emulate him.
Left to cherish Harold are Paula, his Daughter, Dawn (Duane) Schroedter, Sons, Harold (Hal) Winsauer, Jr, (Terri), Ty (Ginny) Winsauer, Sister in law, Margaret Shivley, grandchildren, Heather Socha, Nathan Schroedter, Laura Dodson, Gwenn Cain, Hunter Winsauer, William Winsauer, Asa Winauer, and Great Grandchildren, Kylie Dodson, Payton Dodson, Callen Dodson, Lilyanna Scarbrough, Conner Schroedter, and Shaylee Gregory.
Pallbearers are Coley Gregory, Kenneth Dodson, Nathan Schroedter, Hunter Winsauer, Will Winsauer, Asa Winsauer.
~But the fruit of the Spirit is love, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control...~
