Guadalupe Gomez Garcia, 69, quietly and peacefully began her new life with our Lord on Thursday, April 4, 2013.
Guadalupe was born on April 10, 1943 in Gregory, Texas. As a devout Catholic and parishioner of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, she was a member of the Altar Society, choir, and prayer group. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother who enjoyed living a Christian life, being around family, listening to music, tending to her plants and telling "little jokes".
She is preceded in death by her parents Esteban and Francisca Gomez, brothers Lorenzo and David Gomez, her sister Carmen Gomez and one grandchild Roberto Luis Quintanilla II.
She is survived by her loving husband of fifty years, Abel G. Garcia; five children: Sylvia Garcia, Roel (Pat Gonzalez) Garcia, Arlene (Mario) Solis, Nora (Robert) Quintanilla, and Elizabeth (Andrew) Palacios; 3 granddaughters: Giana and Genesis Garcia and Isabella Palacios; 5 grandsons: Aaron (Liana) Garcia, Isaiah and Benjamin Palacios, Thomas Solis, and Alexander Quintanilla and 1 great-grandson: Luke Garcia. She is also survived by four sisters and two brothers.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm, Sunday, April 7, 2013 at the Limbaugh Funeral Home with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm that same evening. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 8, 2013 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Gregory. Burial to follow at the Gregory Cemetery.
