Gene Davis

Thomas Gene Davis passed away May 29, 2017 after a sudden illness, in San Antonio, TX surrounded by his family. Gene was born October 1956 to Lula Mae Walker Davis and Darrell D. Davis in Beckley, WV. Gene enlisted in the United States Air Force in January 1975.  Upon his discharge from the USAF, he relocated to south Texas and chose to make Portland his home town in 1979.

He is survived by his wife, Connie Davis, and children, Jason (Scarlett) Davis and Kimberly (Leroy) Mitchan.  His beloved grandchildren are Holly Davis, Hunter Davis, Reba Davis, Wrigley Mitchan, Brenda Mitchan, Leroy Mitchan III and Mallory Mitchan.  He is also survived by his brothers, Mike (Pat) Davis, Tim (Evelyn) Davis and sisters Lynn (Gene) Payne and Vicki Davis.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Limbaugh Funeral Home, Portland TX.  Visitation begins at 9:00 a.m. and the Celebration begins at 9:30 a.m.  Burial will be with full Military Honors at the Coastal Bend Veterans Cemetery at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to the First Baptist Church Recreation Ministry.
