Gary E. Vickers, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on December 30, 2025, in Orange Grove, Texas. He was born on January 21, 1949, in Corpus Christi, Texas, and he lived a life filled with love, dedication, and service.

Gary dedicated 43 years of his professional life to the oilfield supply industry, retiring from FESCO Supply in 2013. He was known for his remarkable ability to remember what customers wanted, earning him the affectionate nickname "Radar." His work ethic and commitment to service were evident throughout his career.

Education was an important part of Gary's journey. He graduated from Sinton High School in 1967, followed by earning a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Kingsville A&I in 1971. These achievements laid a strong foundation for his successful career.

Gary's life was rich with interests and hobbies. He was passionate about golf and hunting, and he found immense joy in dancing and traveling, especially on cruises to the Caribbean and Alaska. He also was a valued member of the Rifle Club in Orange Grove, Texas.

In his personal life, Gary celebrated a beautiful union with his wife, Katherine Vickers, to whom he was married for 55 wonderful years, beginning their journey together on December 27, 1970, in Orange Grove. He is survived by his loving son, Matthew Vickers, and three cherished grandchildren, Faith, Hope, and Grace Vickers. He also leaves behind his brothers, Jeff (Robin) Vickers and David (Laura) Vickers; along with nephew, Kevin Vickers; and nieces, Jennifer Vickers, Emma Vickers, and Julia Cantu. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Farrah and Julia Vickers.

Those with the honor of being a pallbearer are as follows: David Vickers, Charles Fuhrken, David Gebert, Bill Meyers, Michael Bartosch, and Kevin Vickers. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bob Eaton, Richard Mitchell, Melvin Shillings, and Jeff Vickers.

Visitation will be held from 6 PM until 8 PM on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at Winsteads' Funeral Home. Funeral Services will begin at 10 AM on Friday, January 9, 2026, at Winsteads' Funeral Home. Gary will be laid to rest at Sons of Hermann Cemetery in Orange Grove, Texas immediately following the funeral service.

The family expresses their heartfelt gratitude to Choice Hospice and their staff including Roxy, Janie, and Eva for their compassionate care during this difficult time.

Gary’s love and kindness will live on through the many lives he touched. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
