Felix David Fojtik

Felix David Fojtik passed away at the age of 75 on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was born on April 30, 1947 in Beeville, Texas to Edward and Lela Mae Fojtik.

He is survived by his two children, Toby Fojtik of Fort Worth and Wendy Fojtik of Leonard, sisters Evelyn Gregorczyk of San Antonio and Elizabeth Gold (husband, Ottis) of Refugio and brother-in-law, Darvin Dieringer of Gonzales.  He also had 8 nieces and nephews, 19 great nieces and nephews, 9 great-great nieces and nephews and many cousins.  

He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Margie Dieringer of Tynan, and his niece Maebeth Linney of Woodsboro.

Felix graduated from Skidmore-Tynan High School in 1965. He attended Victoria Jr College, then Texas A&I University - Kingsville where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture, and was a member of Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity.

Farming and auctioneering were his love and livelihood.  The majority of the time you could find Felix wheeling and dealing at his auction yard, Fojtik Auction and Equipment Co. He also enjoyed his time doing anything on the water, cruising, fishing, hosting his annual bird hunt and traveling with Avis, family and friends. 

In his younger years, he loved to hang out with his farming buddies and friends at the OK Café and was one of the founders of the Mathis Young Farmers Association. On weekends he loved to spend time at the lake teaching kids to water ski and spending time outdoors.

Visitation will be from 5-7pm on Monday, February 13th at Dobie Funeral Home in Mathis, Texas. The Funeral Service will be held at 10am on Tuesday, February 14th at Dobie Funeral Home, followed by Interment at Waldheim Cemetery in Tynan, Texas. All services will be officiated by Darby Salge.
