Ernestina "Tina" D. Hinojosa, born on January 16, 1944, in Mathis, Texas, peacefully passed away on May 20, 2026, in Sinton, Texas. She lived a life marked by love, dedication, and an unyielding generosity that touched the hearts of all who knew her.
As a devoted homemaker and loving wife and mother, Tina’s warmth was the foundation of her family’s happiness. She was known for her beautiful personality, one that welcomed everyone with open arms and made strangers feel like lifelong friends. Her generosity and kindness left an indelible mark on the community and those blessed to know her.
Tina held a cherished place in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Mathis, where she served faithfully as a Crucista, choir member, eucharistic minister, and lector. Her commitment to her faith was a testament to her deep spirit and strong values.
Those who gathered around Tina will forever hold dear the memories of her cooking, especially her beloved pollo guisado, a dish that brought comfort and joy to family gatherings. Her love for gardening and her delight in visiting family and friends added a beautiful rhythm to her days that showed her true zest for life.
Tina is reunited with her beloved husband of 63 years, Miguel M. Hinojosa; two grandsons, Ernesto Gutierrez III and Joshua Gutierrez; two great-grandsons, Ivan Hinojosa Jr. and Elijah Gutierrez; parents, Abelino and Delfina Martinez DelBosque; and siblings, Herminia Gomez, Erlinda Mendoza, Elvira Flores, Abelino DelBosque Jr., and Cruz DelBosque.
Tina leaves her legacy to her children, Esmeralda Hinojosa, Noralinda (Juan) Sanchez, Miguel (Zenaida) Hinojosa Jr., David (Maria) Hinojosa, Gilbert Hinojosa, and Robert Hinojosa; special granddaughter, Jennifer Cervantes; 19 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; numerous great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.

Visitation will be held from 11 AM until 9 PM on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at Winsteads' Funeral Home, where a Holy Rosary will be recited that same evening at 7 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 AM on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at Descanso Eterno Cemetery II.
Ernestina D. Hinojosa's legacy of love, faith, and generosity will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and community. Her spirit will forever be felt in the warmth of family gatherings, in the blooming gardens she tended, and in the countless lives she touched with her kindness. Though she has departed this world, her memory remains an everlasting light.
