Erasmo Avila passed away at the age of 72 on Saturday, August 8, 2020 in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was born on June 12, 1948 in Mathis, Texas to Ambrocio Avila and Maria Villarreal . He was preceded in death by both of his parents.

He is survived by two Daughters Michelle Avila, Jennifer Avila(Sal Gonzales); one Sister Diana (Robert) Medrano, seven Granddaughters, one Grandson, two Great-Granddaughters, one Great Grandson; Niece Anyssa , Nephews Bobby and Marcos.

Eddie was a loving and giving Dad, Grandfather, Uncle and Brother.  He was a Vietnam Veteran of the United States Air Force (E4/Sgt.) and loved to participate in events as a Air Force Veteran. He was also an active member of the American Legion post #633 in Mathis, Texas. He held positions in Honor Guard and as a Trustee of the VFW. Mr. Avila was also a retired welder and loved spending time his family, friends and was always grateful for the lifelong memories made.

Visitation will be at 4 p.m. and Rosary at 7 p.m. on Thursday, August 13, 2020 at Dobie Funeral Home.

Face coverings are required per Governor Abbott.
