Epifanio Hinojosa Jr.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Epifanio Hinojosa, Jr. on February 6, 2026 at the age of 86. Born on January 20, 1940, Epifanio touched the lives of many with his kindness, warmth and generous spirit. He was hard-working and dedicated even after retiring from Corpus Christi Army Depot.

He is survived by his spouse, Dora, His two daughters Josie Cortez and Diane Hinojosa, his grandchildren David, Annaliese and Ramiro Cortez, Jr. His two stepsons Joey and Fermin Hernandez. His siblings Gloria (Roy) Esparza, Elida Adame, Lorenza Cristan, Hilario (Palmira) Hinojosa, Juan (Sylvia) Hinojosa, Minnie Hinojosa. His great grandsons Jaxon and Jacob, and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Josefa and Epifanio Hinojosa. His siblings, Gilbert Hinojosa, Rudy Hinojosa and Flora Hernandez.

Pallbearers are David Cortez, Rosendo Hinojosa, Larry Hinojosa, Jason Hinojosa, Johnny Hinojosa, Rene Adame, Paulie Trevino and Gilbert Hinojosa.

Visitation will be held on Monday, February 16, 2026 at 5:00 pm with a Rosary to follow at Winsteads' Funeral Home, 500 Wildcat Dr, Portland, Tx 78374. Mass will be on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at 10:00 am at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 107 Church, Gregory, TX 78359.
