Emma Jean Jennings

Emma Jean Jennings, age 96 passed away on October 26, 2020. Known to everyone as Jean, she was
the daughter of George T and Nina Burger. She was born in Alice, Texas, September 19, 1924.

Jean was preceded in death by her mother and father, her husband of 61 years, and 5 siblings.

Jean graduated from Mathis High School and was married to Arthur Clifton Jennings, Sr. May 31,
1942. Jean and Clifton made there home in Mathis until October of 2001 when they relocated to
Southaven, MS to be close to their daughter. At the time of Jean's death, she was residing in Nesbit, MS
with her daughter and family.

Jean is survived by two children, four grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 3 great great
grandchildren. Jean's son, Cliff Jennings, his wife Linda and their daughter Jessica, live in Rosenberg,
Texas. Jean's daughter Cheryl Grimes and her husband Dwight live in Nesbit, MS. Grandson Brian
Reeves and his wife Teresa live in Southaven, MS. Granddaughter, Rachel Reeves and her children
Ethan Reeves and Hannah Reeves live in Nesbit, MS. Grandson Russell Reeves and his wife Stacy and
their children Madison and Logan reside in Horn Lake, MS. Great Granddaughter Shelby Reeves
Burns, her husband Richard, and children, Thompson and Macklin reside in Southaven, MS. Great
granddaughter Kailey Brown and her husband Kaleb and daughter Maybree reside in Hawaii.

Jean was an active church member. She was currently a member of Carriage Hills Baptist Church
where she taught Ladies Bible Study. Jean was known by many for her work with the youth choir,
playing the piano and organ for her church. Jean loved staying busy either working on crocheting gifts
for family and friends or working in her yard.

The graveside service will be held at Cenizo Hill Cemetery, County Rd 15 in Mathis, Texas October
30, 2020 at 11:00AM
