Elizabeth Joyce (Betty) Hodges

Elizabeth Joyce (Betty) Simpkins Hodges passed away on October 22,2022, in Kingsville Texas. Elizabeth Joyce (Betty) Simpkins  Hodges was the daughter of Charles Edward Simpkins and his second wife Lula Belle (Atkins) Simpkins of Catoosa Oklahoma.

Elizabeth Joyce (Betty) Simpkins Hodges married Horace Thomas Hodges, They were married Jan. 30th, 1954 in Waxahachie, Texas.

She worked for Sears, in Dallas, in the auditing department for five years. Betty and Horace move back to the Catoosa, Oklahoma area in 1959. Betty worked for the following companies at Tulsa Oklahoma: American Airlines, auditing office 4 years, Tuloma Gas, 5 years, the in accounting office. Williams Pipeline, five years. In 1971 Betty and Horace purchased a 160 acre farm near Council Hill, Oklahoma and lived there until 1987. They then purchased a construction company installing guardrail on state highways. This company worked on Roads all over the state of Oklahoma. They retired from Guardrail Inc. in 1995. Betty was the City Clerk of Council Hill, Oklahoma from 1990 to 1998.

They were the parents of three sons:

Stanley Horace Hodges, Born 1957. Waxahachie, Texas

Rick Thomas Hodges, Born 1962. Tulsa, Oklahoma

Howard Randell Hodges, Born 1965, Claremore, Oklahoma

Elizabeth Joyce (Betty) Simpkins Hodges was the grand daughter of Charles Henry Simpkins and his wife Harriet Travis of New York State on her father's side, and George Washington Atkins Jr. and his wife Hettie Belle (Coble) Atkins of Catoosa, Oklahoma on her mother's side of the family.
