Elijah Lewis Jochetz

Elijah Lewis Jochetz passed away December 15, 2015. Our little brother Eli was born on December 28, 1976 in Aransas Pass, Texas to the late Sheridan and Fannie Jochetz.  At two years old the Jochetz family moved to Bayside, Texas. At five, Eli began school where he learned reading, writing, and sign language.  He made friends along the way and he never met a stranger that he didn’t love.  He lived his life surrounded by family and friends.  His philosophy was “I’m okay, I’m fine, call me, I’ll call you, and my friend.”  In 2009, Eli moved to Woodsboro, Texas with his little brother Larry and family.  He spent hours reading and writing, as well as his part around the house completing housework.  One of his favorite things to do was attend First Baptist Church of Woodsboro.  Singing in the choir and greeting his church family gave Eli such joy.  His nieces and nephews were very important to him.  Eli was a coach, cheerleader, and supporter to all their activities.  His communication wasn’t perfect but you got the message loud and clear, “I love you.”

He was preceded in death by his parents Sheridan Bray Jochetz & Fannie Bell Jochetz (Saylor); brothers Harry (Andy) Andrew Jochetz & Sheridan (Butch) Lee Jochetz; sister Kelly Sue Jochetz; and great nephew Cameron Blaike Arzola. He is survived by his brothers James (Pam) Jochetz & Larry (DeAnne) Jochetz; sisters Verna (Johnny) Arzola, Hope Jochetz, & Rolinda (Corney) Arzol; nephews: John Arzola, Steven Arzola, Dylan Jochetz, Shane Jochetz, Kalob Jochetz, Weslee Jochetz, & Layton Jochetz; nieces Lacie Jochetz, Michelle Martinez, Kaitlin Arzola: great nephew: Andrew Arzola; great nieces: Makenzie Arzola & Ashlynn Arzola.

Pallbearers are John Arzola, Steven Arzola, Dylan Jochetz, Shane Jochetz, Kalob Jochetz, Weslee Jochetz.

Honorary Pallbearers are Andrew Arzola & Layton Jochetz.

The family of Elijah Lewis Jochetz wishes to express our sincere thanks for the flowers and other expressions of love during our time of bereavement.
